For me it’s switched around. The garage queen gets the dollars and attention while the DD gets ignored. It’s not a smart way to do things.

My only variation on this is that I’d just replace the daily and sell the old one at a loss while the project car losses out on t he money I will inevitably spend making a $700 car reliable.

I have to admit I just dropped a bunch of money getting the DD’s a/c compressor and assorted pieces replaced but that’s the first time I’ve spent any money on it other than on brakes and oil.

My Studebaker has needed radiator repairs for about 3 months now. Since then I got a fancy new stereo for the daily.

Has three neglected projects. Buys another one. Then buys another one, and sells daily driver to pay for it. Fortunately project #4 is proving to be pretty reliable as a daily driver.
